Legend of the Dragon King True Skills and the Talent Tree
The Steam pitch is not extra stats. It is skills that change when you invest.
The store page’s combat claim is specific: every skill can be trained into a true skill (真技能) with a hidden effect, and the talent tree can make several skills qualitatively different — not just bigger numbers. Positive Steam reviews repeat that line in plainer Chinese: the talent design feels deliberate, and upgraded skills feel new. This page is how to spend those points without bricking a hotbar.

True skills versus more levels
A normal skill level adds damage or lowers cooldown. A true-skill upgrade, per the listing, changes the move: extra effects, new targeting, or a second payload. That is why two Mages with the same robe can play unlike each other. It is also why you should not eat every book the moment it drops.
Hold books in 仓库 if:
- You might reroll the class after one continent.
- You have not unlocked the talent nodes that the Steam copy says will “质变” (change the nature of) the skill.
- The book is an ultimate (奥义) and your VIP rank is about to gift another one. The V12 pitch on Steam is a 9-rebirth weapon plus per-class ultimate books from monster kills, not only from the cash shop. See VIP.
Talent tree rules of thumb
Talents are not a second EXP bar. Wrong nodes waste a week of bossing. Until the client offers a free respec — Early Access may or may not — follow activity, not a streamer’s screenshot from a different 传奇.
- Clear / maps — Mage-first: area skills, mana sustain, a movement node. This is how you reach continents before you are bored.
- Bosses / VIP bar — Taoist-first: pet HP, poison uptime, self-heal. This is how you sit on 220+ world bosses without a duo.
- Keep / PK — Warrior-first: hold, charge, damage reduction. This is castle siege and Titan ice procs, not the recycle loop.
The tier list is built on those three activities. If your talents fight your activity, you will feel “underpowered” while wearing decent gear.
Class snapshots
Warrior true-skill direction. Classic 传奇 Warriors live on a charge, a fire slash, and a poke. True-skill versions should make the charge a gather or the slash a wave. If a talent node only adds attack rating, skip it until the nodes that change the slash are on. Warriors AFK well; a true-skill that needs frame-perfect cancels is a trap on auto-combat.
Mage true-skill direction. Thunder, firewall, blizzard, shield. True-skill upgrades should be the reason Mage is S for early maps. A shield that also pulses, or a blizzard that leaves a slow, is worth more than a 4% spell power node. Mages die to melee on 沙城; keep one panic tool.
Taoist true-skill direction. Pet, heal, poison, invis. True-skill pets that survive 1030-level bosses are the whole class. Do not dump books into a cosmetic buff. Poison that shreds defence is how Taoist stays first on bosses while Mage is still clearing the door.
How this interacts with the Dragon King set
Dragon King’s Wrath ignores defence. Talents that already shred armour are slightly less unique once Wrath is online, but they still matter before the set is complete — which is most of Early Access. Build for the fight you are in this week, then respec if the client allows it when Wrath lands.
Titan freeze gear wants talents that punish slowed targets. That is a PK tree, not a farming tree. Do not mix those goals on one character unless you enjoy being mediocre at both.
Practical upgrade order
- Unlock auto-combat and fill the hotbar (beginner guide).
- Identify your main activity on the tier list.
- Upgrade the one skill you press even when auto-combat is on — that is the true-skill candidate.
- Spend talents that mention that skill by name.
- Only then spend leftover points on HP or attack.
- Warehouse extra books until VIP or a guild mate confirms you are not about to receive the same book from a rank gift.
If a tooltip is still unreadable, screenshot it and compare the icon to your hotbar. Do not Google the novel. The novel will teach you a Golden Dragon King bloodline that this client does not use.
When a patch notes true-skill tuning, it will show up on Updates before it shows up in English video. We did not embed a YouTube guide here because we could not find a video that is actually app 4773970. Written talent advice beats a random 传奇 clickbait embed.
Log out with books in the warehouse. Early Access plus a full bag is how rare upgrades vanish into overflow. The hotbar can wait one more session; the book cannot respawn itself.
